Take this one. This one is big. A lot of pages intro to InDesign. You can start at the beginning and try to work your way through to the end.
Right click on the links and Save As. Each row of pictures is only one PDF file, just a few pages to give you a feel for the content. So don't download everything three times. Heck, don't download everything even once, they aren't all that good ;-).

This one was meant as an accompaniment to a lecture so you're supposed to be watching me do things on the big screen that illustrate the directions on the pages here. There are also required files missing at this time.
"Hi, could you teach Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and Photoshop in 50 minutes this Saturday?" Um... no, but I'll see what I can do.
This one is older and incomplete and probably never to be completed. Use it when you are hunting for an answer. Each page tries to show a picture that looks like your question. There is an involved description of what is going on and how to fix it. There is also a quick-tip if you are in a hurry or just need to be reminded.

This was meant to accompany a too short lecture for students that were given a specific "template" for creating a project book. There may be some good intro to InDesign material but if a quick skim doesn't show anything of interest, don't dwell on it.
This one was thrown together in a hurry so students would have something on paper to follow and try to keep up with what was going on on the big screen. It also helped keep me on track. I'll keep it here in case I ever need to hand it out but... it probably isn't that useful for y'all.
After I finished the *Lecture books at the top of this page I thought to myself, "You know, Self, there's no way you are going to cover this material in an hour and a half per book. Okay, what are you going to try to teach?

Demo to show that you can make a presentation in InDesign and can throw away Power Point. You can even have cool buttons that light up and stuff.

A simple page with a few paragraph styles students might try to duplicate to learn the basics of paragraph styles. Paragraph styles are very important. If you can't do this page, learn how.
This is all done with paragraph styles but is a little more of a challenge. You don't have to be able to do this, but doing the exploration to figure out how will be good for you.
This is mostly paragraph styles, but the gradient is the fill on the text frame.

A book students might try to duplicate. I also use it in a long class format for students to watch just to get a feel for "this is what using InDesign looks like." The cover page is a little harder.
